Mind Body Connection Game and My 100/1000/10000 Theory

The Wild Divine Project

Check out this product. If this is half as good as they say it is, it could change the world. Is anyone keeping any statistics on "actual change" in life quality. There are standard sets of life quality indicators that are validated and tested for reliability.

Also . . . when did this product appear? Who has tried it? What are they saying about it?

I just want to try it because I am curious . . . and frankly it is related to my "elusive theory" that I am afraid will never get off the ground.

I have another theory. Roughly I call it 100/1000/10,000

Basically, if you want to retain a function . . . you must do it 100 times a day. If you want to master a function, you must do it 1000 times a day. And the ultimate goal is to do 10,000 actions a day.

For example, say you have stiff arthritic fingers (this was true for me). I was thinking I couldn't play the piano anymore and my typing was getting bogged down. My dog Widget kept coming to me and bugging me because she wanted to be scratched. I realized that instead of just scratching her, the scratching could benefit me too (I know it sounds selfish . . .sorry). I realized that I could do finger exercises on her and she would like it just as well. I did the finger exercises hundreds of times . . . because we both benefited. And I have to say after a maybe 5 days of this, my fingers have loosened up . . .

Also, if you do 100 of anything, it will make a difference. If you do 1000 of anything, it will start completing the task. And . . .10,000 of anything will probably come close to finishing it up.

For example, if you walk into a really messy situation, instead of being totally mad, just do 100 things to improve it. Like pick up one hundred pieces of paper. Of course, if it isn't that bad, do 10 of it. How long does it take? How hard is it? How does it make you feel?

HAPPY

What is it about the internet that can make me happy. Like in the morning I feel all so down and out and am just barely moving my old bones . . . then I sit down and look at my email (always scant), play some very trivial non challenging game, and cruise around the Internet for awhile.

By then my bone wake up and I am ready to go. By the way, I am still wondering (after all these years) how to design a virtual game (life) that educates in some way. Does anyone remember the virtual emergency room game? I loved that even if it was kind of stupid and clunky. Also, keeping up with the Jones. Kind of a "LIFE" board game on the puter. What happened to these venues. If anyone knows they can email me at matey@ak.net

PDA eBook Article Progress

I am working on writing the article. It is actually going OK. I find writing to be a pretty bumpy process, overall. You have to constantly be looking things up. I cannot imagine doing this without a computer.

The process does clarify however. When you have written about a topic . . .you know it. You can’t forget it once you have tried to say it ten different ways (Or eliminated the 9 redundant ways)

I think I am maybe halfway through this process. Maybe more.

Right now, I am working on the basic instructions. I will need to go back and work on the first section where I will define PDA books and contrast and compare PDA books and hard copy books.

I guess it will take me a few more days, but I haven’t been working on it full time. Just a couple of hours in the evening. Which is as it should be.

Next Steps

Finish writing the article.
Publish the article to my web page.
Promote the article.
Make a little ebook of the article.
Ask eReader if they would like to publish it?

NIGHTSHIFT

I am working the night shift tonight, and for me that starts right now . . . must eat, shower, and sleep. I always set out my uniform (including socks and shoes) before I go to sleep. I currently have less than 4 hours available so I better get going.
PDA Text Article Update
Ok I made one article – the inclusive, holistic, thinking type, messy article with all the links. The formatting got messed up from the start because I started with the point and click formatting and then it kept starting things in the middle of the page. I guess I am supposed to reset the formatting on the next page.

But it was so messy and I couldn’t trim it up very good. The organization was slopping around (not top down). So I started over and made a really nice outline with really nice organized headings. It will provide a nice structure for the ideas.

I got so bogged down with the problem of what reader and really there are no answers on the web (or anywhere else) in plain black and white. Most of what is written is pretty advertisial (misspelling intended). Anyway what I am going to say is that there seem to be two basic readers (palm installs two to start) and I picked one over the other because I liked to read from it more on the palm, but I like the other one better for computer reading) and the eReader (the one I like) doesn’t include the computer reader. But the point is that the PDA reader concept doesn’t really have to be read on the computer. The eReader (PDA alone concept kind of allows for pure reading (not copy and pasting) – and it may evolve – things always do.

Oh, and by the way. . . I am not sure when and how, but I seem to have done the project steps 1.1 – 1.5 without paying any attention. It is true that my instructions aren’t very tidy yet but I will fix them up for the article.

Next Steps

Write article
Post article to Web site (include meta tags) Make other Web site pages appropriate (mainly get rid of newlook page for now, install metatags, put link to new article on all pages

Analysis of PDAs in Nursing: Benefits and Barriers

My PDA News

This is one of my PDA articles, the other will be published quite a while from now (October).

Now I am working on how to write text so people can read it on a PDA. Cory Doctorow (Feb 2004) made some interesting statements that seem to be quoted a lot. The whole eBook thing represents a paradigm shift in copywrite and creativity and sharing. Who will use it? We will see. Personally, I think the same people will pay for books as already do. And sometimes you just have to have a hard copy.

Particularly I am thinking of my med/surg text. Big, bulky. Impossible to read in one place. And an excellent reference. (PDAs are harder than you want for looking up obscure things - they need to work on that). But really for just reading, the PDA is the best. And the med/surg text deserves to be read too.

Wow, I finally figured out how to post a "web page"

1. make your web page. (be sure it will post in your browser.

2. open the file manager

3. choose a file (custom4 for example) that you are not going to use. Choose edit on that file. Delete all the html contents.

4. Go to your web browser where you are viewing your web page.

5. Click on view>source

6. Copy all that html and then paste it on the blank page.

7. Rename the file (be sure to write it down)

8. Then you have got to put a link on the first page (index page) (probably all the rest too - but I didn't do this). The way I did this was to copy the link above it and paste it underneath. Then I deleted the file name that was there and entered in my new file name. In the same line I changed the title name too so that would be what appeared.

9. That was basically it

About the web page. Well, it doesn't work very well. If you want to laugh at it, you can go ahead and look at it and laugh, because right now the headings over the post it notes are stuck down and the text books slide back and forth as you move the window.

My idea is to have little sticky notes with quotes that I like that I can post on the web pages. I will have to work on it some more I think. I am happy the colors look good. I designed them myself. The background is called ocean sand. The ink is called Blueberry. The post-it note color is called Dark Berry.

It feels kind of funny doing things this way . . . nothing seems very easy.

Well this is about my website. I thought I would put down what I had to go through to get a new page up. Basically here so I can remember it
